South Shore has a supervised Nursery and a Junior Church program each Sunday morning. Our Sunday school is geared for four year olds to grade 5 and runs after our first musical worship set. The Children join their families in the sanctuary for the opening music, and are dismissed from the service. All our volunteers are screened, trained, and supervised.
The nursery is available for children up to (and including) 3 years old. You can bring your child to the nursery at the beginning of the service or drop them off mid-way through the service when the Sunday School kids are dismissed. The Nursery is now downstairs. To get there you go past the sanctuary, through the fellowship hall, and down the stairs. The nursery is to the left of the stairs.
You must sign your child in and out of the nursery.
Sunday School is for children in kindergarten up to grade 5, for the 2nd part of the service. The children will be dismissed from the sanctuary before the sermon, and will join you after the service is done. Parents are welcome to go downstairs with their children, to help them get settled in. We have a Bible story on DVD with activity pages for the kids and snacks, and there are always at least 2 volunteers who have been screened and trained.
*Please note –for our Kindergarten age children (and younger who attend Sunday School) - a parent or guardian will need to bring them downstairs, and sign them in, and return to get them after the service and sign them out. All children in grade 1 and older are fine to go downstairs with the teacher and get checked in.
For curriculum we are using: The Gospel Project for Kids, by Lifeway.
Each summer we run a one week Vacation Bible School that is open to children within the church and community. The next VBS will be held July 5-9, 2026.
Psalms 127:3 "Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him." God has blessed us with children and we want to do everything we possibly can to give them the strength and courage for the road ahead of them.
We have a registration form for children who attend our Children's ministry, you can fill it in on line before you attend, or fill one in at one of our registration stations at church. Thank you!
